A Palestinian conference called on the eve of the departure of the Fourth Palestinian Delegation to London; Jerusalem, March 1930 (see 84). The First Delegation to London in 1921 was followed by two others in 1922. The members of the Fourth Delegation (front row, left to right) were Awni Abd al-Hadi (see 196, 291), lawyer, pan-Arabist, and later a founder of the Istiqlal (Independence) Party (see 102, 105), who had been private secretary to King Faisal I (see 88, 106) at the Versailles Peace Conference in 1919; Haj Amin al-Husseini, mufti of Jerusalem (see 82); Musa Kazim Pasha al-Husseini, chairman of the delegation (see 78);
Raghib al-Nashashibi, mayor of Jerusalem (see 196, 242, 352); and Alfred Roch, prominent Catholic businessman from Jaffa (see 200, 242, 291).
